The IndependentDealer.com website is operated by Auction E-Commerce,
LLC and was developed to provide a place where dealers and members
of the motor vehicle industry could obtain information pertaining
to the operation of their businesses and answers to their questions.
IndependentDealer.com is designed to assist dealers in virtually
every facet of their business. This website represents only the
first step in the company's commitment to gather and share its
wealth of information in order to provide dealers with the tools
they need to be successful and help achieve a better-educated industry.
The concept for the IndependentDealer.com website was created by
Attorney Keith E. Whann, who was joined by Mr. Christopher Leedom
in the development of the site.
Keith E. Whann is the founder of the law firm of WHANN & ASSOCIATES
located in the Columbus suburb of Dublin, Ohio. Mr. Whann has been
engaged in the private practice of law since 1987, focusing on
the representation of businesses in the motor vehicle industry,
including motor vehicle dealerships, automobile auctions, trade
associations and other motor vehicle related entities. The emphasis
of Mr. Whann's practice has been on providing general counsel services,
litigation, legislative and regulatory related work throughout
the United States and in Washington, D.C., the development of litigation
prevention and educational programs for the motor vehicle industry,
and the handling of actions with State and Federal Regulatory Agencies.
Prior to entering the private practice of law, Mr. Whann served
for two and one-half years as an Assistant Attorney General in
the Ohio Attorney General's office handling primarily motor vehicle
industry related cases, with an emphasis on odometer rollback,
title fraud and other motor vehicle related violations of law,
along with being responsible for the enforcement of various statutes
which regulated the day-to-day sales activities and operations
of entities engaging in consumer transactions. During his tenure
as an Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Whann was a member of the
National Odometer Enforcement Association and served on its Legislative
Committee, he was a member of the fifteen-state Midwest Task Force
on Odometer Alterations, and served as Chairman of the Organization
in 1986.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Whann has authored numerous articles
that have been printed in trade publications all over the country.
He is also a dynamic speaker who has presented seminars on various
legal, regulatory and business topics related to the motor vehicle
industry to over 50 National and State motor vehicle industry related
trade associations, numerous individual dealership groups, private
companies and regulatory agencies. Mr. Whann serves as General
Counsel to the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association
(“NIADA”) and as an Anchor on the NIADA.TV Network. Mr. Whann's

Christopher Leedom is a professional Twenty Group moderator and
a highly respected industry expert and consultant. He is the founder
of Leedom & Associates. Leedom & Associates offers twenty
group programs for the motor vehicle industry as well as a broad
base of training and consulting programs for dealers and lenders.
Mr. Leedom has authored and conducted numerous training programs
for independent dealers, and has worked as a consultant and trainer
for over 1100 motor vehicle dealers all across the country. He
is a frequent contributor to various trade publications and has
been a featured speaker at numerous conventions for national and
state trade associations within the motor vehicle industry. Mr.
Leedom is also the founder of the National Special Finance and
Buy Here-Pay Here Conference. Mr. Leedom has extensive experience
in the areas of dealership management, traditional and special
finance, strategic planning and overall dealership operations.
